This trailer for Andrew Leman's feature length adaptation of H.P. Lovecraft's Call of Cthulhu is spellbinding. Produced in the style of a silent film, and set in the period in which the story was written, Leman's film appears to display a dreamlike quality that would be perfect for Lovecraft's work. I have to see this.

My buddy gave me a copy of this for Christmas. It's very faithful to the original story. My big problem was with the production values. Even with a free program like iMovie, it's possible to make DV look like ancient film, but they didn't even bother to try. The dialogue, sets and costumes are all period-faithful, but the obvious digital video presentaiton prevented my suspension of disbelief.
